As stated in my first post, the purpose of this blog is:
Strengthening the fabric of our society by promoting civilian understanding of the soldier’s load is the primary purpose of this blog. Providing a forum for veterans’ issues is a secondary purpose.
I do not claim to be anything more than what I am: a former Marine infantry officer with two combat tours in Iraq, some formal education, and enough experience to add some perspective when it comes to military or veterans issues. I do not have a monopoly on combat experience, education, or perspective, and so welcome the thoughtful, respectful comments of readers.
In this chaotic, often conflicted world, I believe truth is the common ground upon which we can reconcile partisan differences and move culture forward to a better place. Thank you for your interest and support in this endeavor.
